The only fully disability-led multidisciplinary arts organization in Toronto.
Dedicated to celebrating and showcasing work created solely by disabled artists, we strive to de-stigmatize disability and challenge perceptions of disability by providing disabled artists with paid opportunities to share their work.
I am very grateful to have been a collaborator with the Disability Collective for the past five
years. The Disability Collective consistently demonstrated integrity by prioritizing cultural
accessibility and meeting community needs, while continuously striving to improve each day.
I feel proud and appreciative to witness the growth and expanison of the Disability Collective,
and the ways it continues to evolve for the better. I truly value the time, effort, and meaningful
memories I have shared with this collective.
I look forward to continuing my work with them.”
Toronto Fringe has been working with The Disability Collective since 2022 as our Accessibility Coordinators, wherein they’ve brought an exceptional level of quality, care and skill to increasing our festivals’ inclusiveness for our communities of artists and audiences. Their access to a diverse range of collaborators and partners is an asset that enables them to help improve and expand our accessibility practices constantly. We are fortunate to be a part of the community they help to foster that is access-minded, and committed to making live arts events inclusive.
I personally feel that The Disability Collective does a wonderful job of making events accessible and barrier-free as much as possible. They are fully aware to take accountability in helping disabled, D/deaf and neurodivergent artists to be paid for the work they contribute to these arts-based events. TDC makes me feel like at home because of the way they value and acknowledge my disability and support needs, and I absolutely appreciate them for life.
